On patrol

Thursday 28th January 2010  1.30pm-4.00pm

During these hours me and another student had to sit there and if anyone came in answer any questions they asked or wanted to know about the show.while i was there tink 3 or 4 people came.I didn’t think anyone would while we were there.one woman came in and loved it.she said the work was fresh and something that she hadn’t seen before so it was a hit with her.She talked to us for about 5-10 mins.She was australian.When she asked where we were from and said walsall she thought we were polish which made me laugh.

It’s Showtime

26th January 2010 6.00pm-8.30pm the Private viewing

My first thoughts about a private view was not many people are going to turn up.I was surprised that so many had came.I was madam barmaid for the evening along with 2 others.We ended up with more food than drinks and people were gutted when they found out we were out of wine.There was also a shortage of cups towards the end of the evening.

Overall i thought it was a success and the experience was great 🙂

Places Everyone

Today had to go to the Custard Factory in Birmingham becuause we are holding a show there for 1 week from 26th-31st  January 2010.It’s called “labour and Craftmanship”.Both staff and students will be showing their work to the public.

It was so annoying putting a show togther.Felt like everything was organised but then went pear shaped.I was excited that this was the first time i had ever put my work out in the public.I felt my work would work best near the exterance of the gallery due to what the messages said and would then draw people in to view more.After many many hours or waiting,helping others the show was up and ready.

words of wisdom

Signs are all around us and I feel some people don’t listen to what is being said. They tell us where we are when we are lost. Whether it be what room to go to or directions to a destination. In our lives we always have to follow something in order to get somewhere, signs are the way. I feel art in the world is lost to those who don’t understand or do not wish to know. Art is a big thing yet some wish not to welcome it into their lives due to it being too out there, bold, different. They need a helping hand. I am the helping hand. I want to show them the way and let them experience art for themselves and hopefully it will become a passion as it is mine. Getting art into the world is a challenge and so is getting people to the art itself.

I will share my thoughts with you.

snow messages

a blanket of snow is just like a blank canvas

Just for fun

These were just an idea that popped into my head and just had to do it 🙂

snow sculptures

due to recent weather conditions i thought it would be interesting to see what i can do with the snow and link totards my project.there were a few things a tried out such as building snow castles but it keep falling apart so in the end i was stamping the heart shaped bucket into the snow like a stamp.

This wasy the bucket i used for creating the following images. 

To craete the hearts indented into the sow all i did was push the bucket down into the down right way up and repeasted at a few times.After i thought about snow castles but they didnt work so i thought about flipping the bucket upside down and pressing that into the snow instead.

these were the raised hearts i craeted.unfortuntly when photographing these are are not clear.I thought tomyself these are really pretty and thoguht about trying to pick the hearts up.It didn’t work by hand they just fell apart so in the end i say useing a small spade and scooping them up placing them carfully down so they didnt fall apart.

Are artists celebrities?

At the end of the day they work hard and become famous but you never hear them get called a celebrity.People who go on bb get called celebs and they do nothing apart from sit on their arses to earn it where as artists put their heart and soul into a piece of art work!

Logo of the future

This is my very own logo that i have created in photoshop.I will be distributing it like the previous post but i am also considering attaching  it to e-mails and sending them to my contacts.As a new years reseloution i want to be more creative by making cards,gifts,more art,jewellery etc and this logo i want to use and maybe include a little bit more text depending on what the object is.
